Top 7 Moscow
The Top 7 places to visit in Moscow
This list is extremely subjective but is one of the most common questions from our clients. Of course, it’s impossible to choose only 7 places that will satisfy the variety of tastes and interests of our travelers. We tried to be as objective as possible and create a list that combines a variety of destinations that should have something for everyone. Among the Top 7, you’ll find some of the best examples of Moscow’s architecture, parks, Russian history, the everyday life of Muscovites, and the most iconic spots in the city.
Just remember, this list should be considered a starting point, Moscow’s “must-sees,” and is by no means a comprehensive list of all that is worth seeing in the city.
Red Square
This is the most important square not only in Moscow, but in the whole country. It is the main sight of Russia, its calling card, a central symbolic and somewhat mystical place, whose turns of fate are inextricably linked with the ups and downs of Russian history. The ensemble of the square is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
VDNKh – Back in USSR
This is a tour to the Park of the Soviet Dream – a springboard of pride in front of the entire world, whose entrance is symbolically graced by the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman sculpture that won the Grand Prix at the International Exhibition in Paris in 1937.
Kolomenskoye Village and Park
This park – its history and outskirts – is now part of the city. This remarkable architectural ensemble and the Church of the Ascension (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) carry us back to the Middle Ages. An excursion to Kolomenskoye is especially revitalizing after a walk through Zamoskvorechye District and the Tretyakov Gallery.
Sparrow Hills and its observation platform
This is a classic place to take in a panoramic view of Moscow, both during the day and at night. It is a must-see during our Moscow sightseeing tour.
Arbat street
One of the first pedestrian streets in Moscow, it saw Pushkin, Bunin, and Tolstoy in the flesh. It is the meeting place of all architectural styles in Moscow. And, no less important, there are the wonderful historic alleys and courtyards hidden from passers-by through small arches.
Moscow Metro
The Moscow Metro is a must-see as a unique facility in terms of its complexity – a network of underground palaces that were both “cathedrals” and “train stations” for Soviet residents.
